In Almaty, Kazakhstan, the ZVUK collective and its parties have created a community that reflects the ideal exploratory ethos and collective potential of electronic music. In relative isolation, and without any existing club culture, ZVUK sustains a scene where throbbing acid, rowdy breakbeats, deconstructed club, banging techno, and all types of driving dance music collide with thoughtful activism.
Founded by Nazira in 2016 with the goal of creating a space for adventurous electronic music, ZVUK has collaborated with the world-renowned Bassiani club in Tbilisi, Berlin's techno hard-liners Herrensauna, and the queer festival WHOLE, as well as curating Boiler Room's first-ever event in Kazakhstan in 2021. These collaborations highlight just how influential ZVUK's perspective and musical policies have become. Their musical impact and intentions are an exciting example of electronic music's ability to transcend borders, and they are more than ready to bring this energy to the rest of the world, welcoming everyone willing to make the effort into the ZVUK family.
On this night, Nazira will be joined by two other ZVUK residents - E.T. and Kokonja - as well as the local Fast Forward resident Sugar, who should be familiar to most Copenhagen clubgoers.
